Project: Bring A Smile
When I was doing my internship, I was exposed to lots of poor communities in the Philippines. Children from these neighborhoods hardly have food to eat. Toys and clothing are just as scarce. Ever since, the desire to help these people grew in my heart. In my own little ways, I do that. I believe that you don’t have to be rich to lend a hand… to bring a smile…The challenge in giving is to share not only what you have in excess but to share what you have no matter how little it is. Now that I am here in the United States, I can’t help but look back. Once again, I want to do my part in making the lives of these children a little better. So I came up with an idea……
"Project: Bring a Smile"
Project Bring a Smile is my pet project. It is just on its infancy. With God’s grace and the generous help of others, I hope it grows.
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased..." Hebrews 13:16

THE MOJE FAMILY
My Grandpa, Reynaldo R. Moje, when he was still alive made a vow to help our less fortunate neighbors in Tondo, Manila. Every 20th of December ( Grandma & Grandpa’s wedding anniversary and my brothers birthday) of each year, with the help of every family member, rice, noodles, coffee and canned goods were packed and distributed. The funds use to pursue this project came from his very own pocket. He is not a wealthy man, our family isn’t a wealthy family but we believe in sharing what we have…
Three years ago, Grandpa passed away. My Papa and Mama, despite some financial challenges struggled to keep Grandpa’s legacy alive.
Just recently my younger sisters, Cheska and Mico, students of Manila Cathedral School were exposed to the works of Missionaries of Charity. On several occasions, they visited Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children. It is an orphanage that caters to children with special needs. Residents of Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy are kids with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Hydrocephalus, Asthma and Malnutrition.
My family wishes they could give more to these less fortunate little one. When I told them about Project Bring A Smile, they were truly happy. It inspired them to give more and they also agreed to deliver the toys and clothing and help distribute them to the kids.
I don’t want this list to end. I hope to add more names to the Project: Bring a Smile friends and supporters. All kinds of help are welcome.I believe that bringing a smile to these less fortunate kids is a collective effort. Thank you so much for reading and thank you in advance for your help.
