While I was working on a project for a bunch of school-aged kids, I was searching for a charitable activity that they could be a part of. These will help their parents satisfy the goal of teaching their kids to share their blessings. I came across lots of websites including ‘Kidz Helping Kids’. I was inspired at how very young children do their shares in helping others. Some send gifts to rescued children in Ghana, Africa, some help raise money to find a cure for Cardiomyopathy and some collect used children books and send them remote provinces in the Philippines. These made me wonder, how I could do my share?
When I was doing my internship, I was exposed to lots of poor communities in the Philippines. Children from these neighborhoods hardly have food to eat. Toys and clothing are just as scarce. Ever since, the desire to help these people grew in my heart. In my own little ways, I do that. I believe that you don’t have to be rich to lend a hand… to bring a smile…The challenge in giving is to share not only what you have in excess but to share what you have no matter how little it is. Now that I am here in the United States, I can’t help but look back. Once again, I want to do my part in making the lives of these children a little better. So I came up with an idea……
"Project: Bring a Smile"
Project Bring a Smile is my pet project. It is just on its infancy. With God’s grace and the generous help of others, I hope it grows.
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased..." Hebrews 13:16
